September 2005 – Walking Challenge project

Outcome Technologies has provided the web-based software solution for BUPA’s Walking Challenge project.

The Walking Challenge is a BUPA event that aims to help people feel better and get more active. During the event (throughout September) teams of four employees are encouraged to walk as much as they can. Every participant is given an easy-to-use pedometer to monitor the number of steps taken each day. The team that walks the most steps is the winner at the end of the Challenge.

BUPA is also keen to measure any health improvement as a result of the event. This is done by asking participants to answer a short questionnaire as part of the registration process, followed by another roughly three months later.
